Welcome to my color illusion blog, which picks up where my @NovickProf Twitter posts left off. The illusions, inspired by Akiyoshi Kitaoka (@AkiyoshiKitaoka), are primarily variations on the Munker illusion, including the Novick-Kitaoka extension to the confetti illusion. The blog is usually updated on Mondays.

Opposites 2: In a standard Munker illusion, the color of the background object is "pulled" toward that of the foreground stripes. But if the background and foreground colors are opposites, then they colors seem to cancel out, which can make the background object look white.
