Stereo Roses 2: In this Munker-illusion stereogram, the roses appear to be pink and purple but are identical (RGB 255 173 255). When viewed stereoscopically, the roses appear to be translucent and above the background, yet their colors remain different. You can access the original .png file in my Dropbox folder at https:// bit.ly/3a1RTAU .

Welcome to my color illusion blog, which picks up where my @NovickProf Twitter posts left off. The illusions, inspired by Akiyoshi Kitaoka ( @AkiyoshiKitaoka), are primarily variations on the Munker illusion, including the Novick-Kitaoka extension to the confetti illusion. The blog is usually updated on Mondays.  You can access all my latest color illusions at https:// bit.ly/3a1RTAU , and my Web page on color illusions ( http:// engineering.utep.edu/novick/colors ) has an explanation of the Munker illusion plus nearly all of my earlier color illusions, including the dynamic color-reversal illusion.
